Guiding Values and Principles

Our core values emphasize the intuitive nature of our program.  

  • We believe horses and humans are sentient beings who benefit from healthy relationships that are based on trust, mutual respect, appropriate intimacy, and partnership.
  • We value dignity and respect for all people regardless of race, color, spiritual belief, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, or veteran status.

Property and Barn Rules for Safety

All barn rules and safety rules will be accessible in the barn, in the handbook, or on the electronic communication.  

Program Dismissal

Apprenticeship Participants  may be asked to leave the program for a number of reasons, including, but not limited to: 

  1. Being intoxicated, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol while on the property. 
  2. The use of alcohol or illegal drugs on the grounds.
  3. Breach of the confidentiality policy.
  4. Verbal or physical abuse or sexual harassment or other inappropriate behavior toward participants, other volunteers and or staff members. 
  5. Mistreatment of the horses or other animals.
  6. The use of vulgar language, inappropriate jokes, or disrespectful language. 
  7. Frequent missed training sessions or apprenticeship scheduled times, without prior notification and or explanation. 
  8. Smoking (not in designated areas) on stable grounds. 
  9. Persistent disruption of staff during sessions or special events. 
  10. Any behavior deemed inappropriate by the property owner. 
  11. Any breach of the stated Guiding Values or Principles listed in this application or the Apprentice Handbook.
